Welcome to the help
section of the Tampa Bay Film Online film Festival. This section contains
answers to the most common help topics and tips for watching indie films
on our Tampa online film festival. For more information, check out our

We not only design and maintain the web site for the Tampa Bay Film Online
Film Festival, but we watch films on it, too, just like you. We also use
it as a high-profile marketing and as a promotion platform for our indie
films. Site designer C. A. Passinault designed it as an indie film marketing
and promotional platform for his film projects, and if it is designed
to suit his needs, we all benefit from using this site.

1. I
watched a short film, and it seems incomplete. Where is the rest of it?
Many indie films are split up into episodes of smaller
films. This is often done to improve viewing quality of the film. One
film showcased on our online film festival Dirty
Bomb Diaries, is 16 episodes long. Simply hit
the NEXT link on the upper right part of the screen above the film or
the NEXT key next to the film title under the film viewing window.
TIP:
Look
at your menu options. Above the film, you have a series of text
links for navigation: PREVIOUS - ALL
FILM CHANNELS - FILM SHOWCASE - REPORT PROBLEM - HELP - RATE FILM - NEXT
. HELP leads here, and you may have hit that link to get to this page.
Report problem is for a film that no longer plays, or films that may have
been pulled down by their owner.
IF the film is split into several EPISODES, the NEXT link will lead to
the next episode, and you can continue watching the film. We will always
post as many episodes as are available to give our film festival viewers
as complete of an experience as possible.
EXCEPTION:
Series films. If a film is part of a series, and it is a stand-alone film
with no continuity to the other films in the series, the NEXT key will
only lead to a related film if the titles are in sequence alphabetically.
In the case of series, we will have dedicated index pages where you can
see related films in their proper order.
TIP:
The online film festival is optimized to be watched full-screen.
Hit your F11 key on your keyboard
to see options which may be hidden on a limited screen. Hit F11 again
to toggle the screen back to normal when you are done.
Episodic films will always have a enlarge NEXT link following the title
under the film window. If the window is large and you cannot see the title,
simply hit F11 to for full screen viewing or scroll down to see the link.
You can also hit the normal NEXT on the upper right part of the screen
above the film viewing window.
2. The
film will not load and play.
We don't actually host indie films on our online film
festival server. The films are hosted elsewhere, on sites such as Youtube,
Revver, Google, Myspace, and Monkey See. Sometimes, you have to wait for
the film to load from their server. If it does not load on its own, hit
your F5 key on your keyboard to
refresh the page. That should fix the problem, and you should be able
to watch the film.
TIP: If you are watching a film, you click on a link to watch something else, and the present film is still playing, pause the film. You will then go to the page or the film that you want to go to. When a film is playing, it tends to anchor the page that you are on because it is pulling from a server. Pausing it allows links to respond.
3. I
clicked a link or another film to watch, and it won't go there.
Click the link again. If this does not work,
pause the film that you are currently watching,
and the link will work.
4. How
do I find the kind of film that I am looking for?
If it is no our online film festival, you can simplify
your search by looking at our channels for the genre which your film may
be found under. Each indie film channel only lists relevant films for
that category.
5.
How do I find your film channels?
We have many online film channels for our Tampa online
film festival. The channels are not set in stone, and we may add channels
or adjust channels as they are needed.
You can access a directory for all the channels by clicking on the FILMS
button, which is on the main menu on the left of the web site.
For a listing of ALL the films available on our Tampa online film festival,
go to our ALL
FILMS CHANNEL. There are a lot of films on our ALL
FILMS CHANNEL, as it lists everything that we have. To weed out films
that do not pertain to the film genre that you are looking for, check
out our individual film channels.
At any time, if you are on a film channel, and you want to see the channel
index, click on the FILM
FESTIVAL CHANNELS link on the upper left.
For sadists, or people who simply love bad films, we are adding a FILM
DUMPSTER channel for the worst of the worst-rated films; this is opposite
of our esteemed FILM
FESTIVAL SHOWCASE CHANNEL.
Filmmakers have a lot to look forward to, also, in our upcoming INDIE
FILM PRODUCTION channel, which will have video tutorials covering all
aspects of indie film production work. How's that for a weekend film school
that won't cost you a dime?
TIP: There are other ways of surfing our online film festival and watching films as they are listed in alphabetical order. See those PREVIOUS and NEXT links above the film viewing window? Use them! If the film is not in parts, or episodes, those links will lead to other films in our film database.
TIP: Don't like a film? Don't watch it! We have plenty more for you to choose from. This is one advantage that we have over film festival events. You don't have to sit through films that you don't like. You can also select indie films from a menu and watch films in any order that you like. Need a break? Hit pause. The film can be resumed when you come back!
6. How
do I add a film to your online film festival?
Follow the instructions on our FILM
SUBMISSION page. Our online film festival
is free, too!
7. How
does your Film Showcase Channel work? How do I get my film added to your
indie film showcase?
Our indie film INDIE
FILM SHOWCASE CHANNEL is only for the best films on
our online film festival, and once your film is selected it may take a
while before it shows up there, unless one of our editors likes it and
fast tracks it there with an minimal showcase score of 50 assigned to
it by default.
So, how does your film make it onto our showcase channel?
Simple. People who watch it vote on it in our ongoing online indie film
competition.
See the RATE FILM
link above each and every film (located on the text navigation menu over
the film viewing window). That's how people vote.
When they hit the RATE FILM link, they rate
the film with a score ranging from 1 to 100. Films that have
over 120 votes and average a score of over 50
will be added to our ONLINE
FILM SHOWCASE, and their score ranking will be shown!

The Tampa Film Showcase Film Festival
This Tampa Bay Film Online Film Festival is a free film festival, available at no charge, if you are only showing your film on this online film festival. Submissions to other Tampa Bay Film film festivals, or Tampa Bay Film film festival events, may not necessarily be free. If you are submitting your film to the online film festival as well as a film festival event, an entry fee may apply from the other film festival. Please check the submission instructions and the guidelines of all film festivals which you are submitting to. Although services are often marketed and sold at Tampa Bay Film film festivals, including this online film festival, you are not obligated to those services in order to have submissions considered for film festivals, or to participate; no purchase of products or services necessary (although film festival submission fees and charges directly relevant to the film festival do apply).

The Tampa Bay Film Online Film Festival is designed to be interlinked with both Tampa Bay Film and the Tampa Film Showcase web sites. All sites are cross-linked and optimized to fully support each other. You can toggle between any of the web sites in one click from each web site's main menu for maximum convenience. The Tampa Bay Film Online Film Festival web site is the official online film festival of Tampa Bay Film, The Tampa Film Showcase Monthly Film Festival and Networking Event, and the Tampa Film Showcase film festival.
Tampa Bay Film is a massive meta site consisting of eight main web sites, and hundreds of support resources.
